word \"cyanide\" also comes from this root, in this case it is not a coincidence: the blue colour of the cyanography comes from the cyanide salts contained in the emulsion. <br \/><br \/>Cyanotype: from<strong> \u03c4\u03cd\u03c0\u03bf\u03c2 <\/strong>is pronounced \"t\u00fapos\" and means \"impression, imprint, mark\". The cyanotype is a<strong> photographic print<\/strong>, a blue and white impression of a negative. The technique is called<strong> cyanotypy<\/strong> but the term \"cyanotype\" is in common usage.<br \/>This process is the origin of cyanography. <br \/><br \/>Cyanography: from<strong> <strong>\u03b3\u03c1\u03b1\u03c6\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd <\/strong><\/strong>is pronounced \"graphein\" and means \"to write, draw, paint\". The suffix evokes a gesture, a pictorial expression and emancipates itself from the method of printing. The image reveals more than just a silhouette because the stems, leaves and flowers block the light rays according to their thickness.<\/p>\n<p>Anna Atkins is thus the author of the first book of photography, she will publish in cyanotype 11 volumes of census of the British flora, her last works show an artistic composition of the plates.<\/p>\n<p>On the premises of photography, Talbot called this &#8220;imprint&#8221; a <strong>photogenic drawing<\/strong>; posterity kept the term <strong>photogram <\/strong>for photographs taken without a camera. but this expression is used for a wide variety of works and processes.<br \/>\nGerhard Richter, for example, offers under this label both his paintings from the 1960s made from photographs and his photographs on which he has been painting since 1986.<\/p>\n<p>While waiting for cyanography to become familiar and the term understood, I often define it as <strong>cyanide salt painting<\/strong>, it arouses curiosity and allows me to make the link with silver photography&#8230; and its silver salts.<\/p>\n<p>To continue on the terms in CYANO the material used to paint and obtain a photosensitive surface is in fact a<strong> chemical emulsion with ferricyanide salts<\/strong>, I explain my recipe in a &#8220;technical&#8221; <strong>blueprint<\/strong>, which is also used for technical drawings and corresponds to a detailed plan. In the industrial era, the cyanotype was used to duplicate large-format plans using a layer, paper and light-sensitive emulsion.<\/p>\n<p>Although blueprints have not been reproduced in cyanotype since the 1940s&#8230;
